Original Items. Only One Available. This is a tremendous set of items included in an Army Air Forces Emergency survival kit, all in great shape and unissued. These USAAF kits do not show up often, and when individual pieces of the kit show up, they are often in bad shape.
The kit includes:
-A.A.F. Classification No.17-B Knife, Assembly, Emergency Curved, Clothing, with its original sheath and box. The yellow of the wood is still as perfect as the day it was painted, and the leather sheath barely fits it due to having been stored apart for so many years. Measures roughly 6” and is connected to sheath via rope.
-27C/2023 Emergency Curved Knife with original sheath. It is connected to the sheath with a rope that is still taped around the handle of the knife with its original packing tape. Good shape overall. Measures roughly 9¾” long.
-Tropicalized DACO-LITE Hand-Crank Flashlight, made by Dayton Acme Co. in Cincinnati, Ohio. Stamped and dated TROPICALIZED SEPTEMBER, 1944. PROPERTY AIR FORCES, U.S. ARMY. Has a spare bulb behind the light. When the metal tab is released, you can push down on the handle to light the bulb. Still functions!
-Emergency Signaling Mirror (ESM/1). Double sided mirror for signaling rescue ships or planes, attached to woven rope. Spec. No. 40653. In great unissued condition, made by the General Electric Company.
-A very tiny compass on a string, roughly ¾” in diameter.
-Sunwatch case with compass and list of places with associated variation, latitude, longitude, and equations. Manufactured by Ansonia Clock Company, N.Y. Measures 3 x 1⅞”.
-Sulfadiazine Tablets, U.S.P. in original packaging, manufactured by the Upjohn Company, Kalamazoo, Michigan. Very rare piece to find sealed! Measures roughly 3x2”.
-Plastic U.S.N. Whistle on original rope.
-Brass Military Whistle, no rope. Marked MADE IN USA.
-Sealed tin of GAFF HOOK ASSEMBLY. Seal has partially torn off but tin is still completely sealed.
This is a phenomenally rare set of survival tools, each in great unissued condition and perfect for any World War II display. Ready for further research and display.
